BOARD OF TRUSTEES

I recommend that £500 be appropriated to the Health Service from the Reserve and Contingent Fund. O n motion of Mrs. Busey, this appropriation was made, by the following vote: Aye, M r . Barr, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Grigsby, M r . Noble, M r . Trees; no, none; absent, M r . Armstrong, M r . Blair, Mrs. Ickes, M r . Small, M r . W h a m . APPROPRIATION FOR DEPARTMENT OF DAIRY HUSBANDRY (3) On request of Dean Mumford, I recommend that the sum of $3,876.64 be appropriated from the balance carried forward from the funds of the Dairy Husbandry Department, June 30, 1925, subject to reappropriation, for additional facilities at the new dairy barn made necessary by the transfer of the dairy herd to the new dairy barns. O n motion of M r . Barr, this appropriation w a s m a d e , b y the following vote: A y e , M r . Barr, M r s . Busey, M r s . Evans, M r s . Grigsby, M r . Noble, M r . AGREEMENT FOR IMMUNIZATION EXPERIMENT ON PIGS (4) Dean Mumford recommends that an agreement be entered into between the University and Mr. P. B. Scott of Alexis, Illinois, for a cooperative investigation of the immunization of suckling pigs for the purpose of determining the effectiveness of immunization against hog cholera. I concur in this recommendation. O n motion of M r . Barr, this recommendation w a s concurred in. FEE FOR DIAGNOSIS OF RABIES SPECIMENS (;) Our Animal Pathology Laboratory is frequently called on to make diagnoses of rabies suspect specimens. Dean Mumford and Professor Graham are of the opinion that we should continue making these diagnoses and that aflatcharge of $5 each be made. I recommend approval. O n motion of M r s . Evans, this recommendation w a s approved.

REPORT OF THE FINAL PAYMENT OF THE BEQUEST OF LOUISA C. GREGORY

(6) The Comptroller reports that in accordance with the action of the Board of Trustees on February 13, 1926, he has received the sum of #1,531 from the American Surety and Trust Company as the final payment of the bequest of Louisa C. Gregory to the University of Illinois for the establishment of a scholarship fund. This report w a s received for record.

PAYMENT OF STUDENT LOANS

(7) The Council of Administration recommends the following modification in our practice with reference to the payment of student loans: In lieu of a single note due on a specified date after graduation or time of leaving the University, installment notes due at intervals after these dates, may be taken by the Comptroller. On motion of Mrs. Grigsby, this recommendation was approved. RESIGNATION OF ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR CASSIUS ROGERS (8) Associate Professor Cassius Rogers of the College of Medicine has tendered his resignation effective at the close of this academic year. I recommend that his resignation be accepted, with an expression of appreciation of his valuable service.
