10. T o give such publicity to this matter as will stimulate the interest of the seniors of the next year in the contest, I hope that your body will authorize the Head of the Civil Engineering Department to call a convocation of the Civil Engineering Students early next fall at which meeting the fact of the establishment of the prizes will be stated and the attention of the students will be directed to the object to be attained in each of the four items of the award. I think it might be helpful if at the close of each year a similar convocation were held at which the students should be notified of the winners, and also at which the prizes and the certificate should be presented. Possibly after the new names are inserted in the tablet, it would be worth while to take a photograph of it and present each of the winners with a copy. I suggest this only as a means of possibly stimulating greater interest in the prizes and thereby increasing interest in scholarship and some of the important by-products of a college course. 11. A copy of this letter accompanies the deed of gift, and a copy of the deed of gift accompanies this letter; and a copy of both is given to the Head of the Civil Engineering Department. Yours very truly, Ira 0. Baker T h e s e d o c u m e n t s w e r e received for record.
