This report w a s received for record. A D J U S T M E N T S IN T H E B U D G E T (8) A recommendation that the following adjustments in the Budget for 1923-24 be made. Pathology and Bacteriology I. O n recommendation of Dr. D. J. Davis and Dean A. E. Eycleshymer, I request that the sum of £580 be added -to the budget of the Department of Pathology and Bacteriology of the College of Medicine, to be distributed as follows: That the amount $3500 allowed in the Budget for an assistant professorship be made $3800, instead of $3500. That the salary of Joseph Lepak, chief technician be made $1680 instead of $1600. That the salary of S. A. Levinson, one-half time instructor, be made #1200 instead of #1000. 2. I also recommend that the salary of Dr. D. J. Davis be made $7500 instead of $7,000. Chemistry 3. O n urgent recommendation of Professor S. W . Parr and Professor Roger Adams, Acting Head of the Department of Chemistry, concurred in by Dean Babcock, I recommend the following changes be made in the budget of that department: That the salary of Miner M . Austin, Associate in Chemistry, be made $2400, instead of $2250. That the rank of Manson J. Bradley, Instructor, be changed to Associate, at the same salary ($2100). School of Music. That the salary of Director Stiven be made $6000 instead of $5500. That the salary of Mr. MacNeill be made $2000 instead of #1700. That the salary of Miss Florence. E. Street be made $1800 instead of $1600. O n motion of M r s . Grigsby, these r e c o m m e n d a t i o n s w e r e a p proved. T H E R E S I G N A T I O N O F M R . M. M . L E I G H T O N (9) On April 19 last Professor Leighton wrote Dean Babcack that he had accepted an appointment as Chief of the Illinois Geological Survey, and wished to tender his "resignation as Assistant Professor of Geology, to take effect not later than June loth or at such a time before that date as the discharge of m y University duties will permit."
