BOARD OF TRUSTEES

(The student advisory vote was: Aye, Mr. Didato-Castillo, Mr. Rose; no, none.)

Purchases

(15) The president submitted, with his concurrence, a list of purchases recommended by the directors of purchases and the vice president for business and finance. The purchases were presented in one category — purchases from institutional funds. The term designates funds received by the University under contracts with the United States government, private corporations, and other organizations; grants from foundations, corporations, and other donors; and University revolving funds authorized by law. The total amount of these purchases from institutional funds was $3,048,051. A complete list of the purchases, with supporting information (including the quotations received), was sent to each member of the board in advance of the meeting. A copy is being filed with the secretary of the board for record.

On motion of Dr. Gindorf, the purchases recommended were authorized by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Engelbrecht, Dr. Gindorf, Mrs. Gravenhorst, Mr. Lamont, Ms. Lopez, Mrs. O'Malley, Ms. Reese; no, none; absent, Dr. Bacon, Mrs. Calder, Governor Edgar. Comptroller's Financial Report Quarter Ended December 31,1994

(16) The comptroller presented his quarterly report as of December 31, 1994. A copy has been filed with the secretary of the board.

SECRETARY'S REPORT

The secretary presented for record appointments to the faculty and changes of status made by the president, resignations, terminations, and retirements. A copy of the report is filed with the secretary.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Chair Lamont, referring to Section Two of the Open Meetings Act, stated: "A motion is now in order to hold an executive session to consider information regarding the appointment, employment, or dismissal of employees or officers, to discuss pending, probable, or imminent litigation, the acquisition of real property, to discuss campus security, and to receive legal advice from counsel." The motion was made by Dr. Gindorf and approved by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Engelbrecht, Dr. Gindorf, Mrs. Gravenhorst, Mr. Lamont, Ms. Lopez, Mrs. O'Malley, Ms. Reese; no, none; absent, Dr. Bacon, Mrs. Calder, Governor Edgar.
