Funds are available from the Auxiliary Facilities System Repair and Replacement Fund. A schedule of the bids received and a description of the alternates have been filed with the secretary of the board for record.

On motion of Dr. Bacon, these contracts were awarded by the following vote: Aye, Dr. Bacon, Mr. Boyle, Mrs. Calder, Dr. Gindorf, Mr. Grabowski, Mrs. Gravenhorst, Mr. Lamont, Ms. Lopez, Ms. Reese; no, none; absent, Governor Edgar. (The student advisory vote was: Aye, Mr. Begovich, Mr. Lawless; no, none.)

Contract, Upgrade Fire Alarm and Monitoring Systems, Housing Food Stores, Urbana

(29) The president of the University, with the concurrence of the appropriate administrative officers, recommends the award of a contract for $124,164 to Bodine Electric of Decatur, Inc., Champaign, the lowest responsible bidder on its base bid of $123,614 plus acceptance of one alternate in the amount of $550, for the upgrade of the fire alarm and monitoring systems for Housing Food Stores at the Urbana campus. The project consists of installation of new microprocessor-based fire alarm panel and associated addressable devices; new ammonia detection analyzers, sequencers and sample tubing, and upgrade of temperature monitoring. Funds are available from the Auxiliary Facilities System Repair and Replacement Fund. A schedule of the bids received and a description of the alternate have been filed with the secretary of the board for record.

(30) The president of the University, with the concurrence of the appropriate administrative officers, recommends that the following contracts be awarded for Engineering Quadrangle demolition and utility infrastructure and steam tunnel relocation at the Urbana campus. The award in each case is to the lowest responsible bidder on its base bid plus acceptance of the indicated alternates. Division I — General Felmley-Dickerson Company, Champaign
