Whereas: The following men from the College of Medicine made the supreme sacrifice in The World War;

THEREFORE: BE I T RESOLVED, that the Executive Faculty of the College of Medicine respectfully suggest to the President of the University, the Board of Trustees of the University, and the Public Welfare Commission, that they plant, or cause to be planted, a Memorial Tree on the above described Campus, which Tree shall be marked in the manner indicated by the American Legion, for each of the deceased heroes. AND, BE I T FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of these Resolutions be sent to the President of the University, the President of the Board of Trustees, and the President of the Public Welfare Commission.

R E S I D E N C E HALL R E S E R V E D FOR ILLINOIS GIRLS (13) A report of the action of the President of the University in ruling that henceforth the Woman's Residence Hall shall be reserved for students from Illinois.

This report was received for record.

COAL USED I N 1 9 2 1 - 3 3 (14) A report that approximately 33,610 tons of coal had been purchased during the current academic year, at a cost of $103,709.03, or $3.08 a ton—representing a saving of about $27,000 over the lowest contract price that was offered for the year.

A P P O I N T M E N T OF D E A N O F COLLEGE O F A G R I C U L T U R E (15) A recommendation that Professor Herbert W. Mumford be appointed to succeed Dean Eugene Davenport as Dean of the College of Agriculture and Director of the Agricultural Experiment Station at a salary of #8,000 a year, beginning September 1, next.

On motion of Mrs. Blake, this appointment was made. PURCHASE OF THE DAVENPORT PROPERTY.

(16) All the formalities connected with the purchase of the Davenport house have been complied with, and I recommend that an appropriation of $25,000 be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund to pay for this property, with the reservation that if, on making up the budget, it appears that the University is not able to pay in full for this property at this time, only such part of the purchase price shall be paid over as is necessary to satisfy the owner, the rest to be payable at the convenience of the University.

On motion of Mrs. Evans, this recommendation was approved. The appropriation was made by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Blake, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Grigsby, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Noble; no, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mr. Herbert, Mr. Small, Mr. Trimble.
