SALARY FOR M I L I T A R Y C O M M A N D A N T

(4) A recommendation that Major G. F. N. Dailey, the Military Commandant be paid a salary of seventy-five dollars a month, beginning September 1, 1921, and continuing for 12 months or until he is relieved of duty by the War department and so long as his rank is lower than that of Colonel.

On motion of Mrs. Evans, this recommendation was concurred in.

BURSAR'S P E T T Y CASH F U N D

(5) A request from the Comptroller that the Bursar's petty cash fund be increased from $10,000 to $25,000, subject to the regulations regarding petty cash funds as approved March 13, 1917, page 264. I recommend approval.

On motion of Mr. Hoit, this recommendation was concurred in.

INCREASE OF I NCI DENTAL F E E FOR S T U D E N T S NOT RESI D E N T S OF ILLINOIS

(6) A recommendation that the incidental fee charged students not residents of Illinois be fifty per cent more at the departments in Urbana than is charged Illinois students. This will make the amount $75 a year or $37.50 a semester. It is recommended further that this go into effect with the opening of the University year in September, and that the Registrar notify all students not residents of Illinois of this change.

On motion of Mr. Trimble these recommendations were adopted.

TUITION F E E IN PRACTISE HIGH SCHOOL

(7) A recommendation that the tuition fee in the practise high school of the College of Education be fixed at $25 a semester or $50 a year.

On motion of Mr. Trimble, this recommendation was adopted.

M E D I C A L RESEARCH LABORATORY A N D L I B R A R Y

(8) A recommendation that the building for the new Research Laboratory and Library for the College of Medicine be erected under an arrangement with the Department of Public Welfare, similar to that under which the Clinical Institute is being erected and that the President of the University be instructed to consult with the Director of the Department of Public Welfare and present the proposed agreement to the Board for approval at its next meeting.

On motion of Mrs. Busey, this matter was referred to the President of the University and the Committee on the College of Medicine, to report to the Board. At this point, Mr. Abbott took his place with the Board.

IMPROVEMENTS TO D E N T I S T R Y A N D WOOD S T R E E T BUILDINGS

(9) A recommendation that $3000 be appropriated from the Reserve and Contingent fund to put a fire-escape on the Dentistry building, and that $2500 be appropriated for improvements on the Wood street property in Chicago.
