BOARD OF TRUSTEES

[January 25,

On motion of Mr. Abbott, this bill was ordered paid, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Blake, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Carr, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Ward; no, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mr. Herbert, Mr. Small, Mr. Trimble. The Board resumed consideration of matters submitted by the President of the University.

MEMORIALS A recommendation that the following regulations be adopted: AH memorials, their design and their location, offered to the University by any individual or class, must be approved by the Board of Trustees, In minor cases the President of the University may act in this matter for the Board. Class memorials will be accepted only on the condition that the money for the purchase of the same shall be turned over to the University and the contract for the purchase, construction, and installation of the memorial shall be under the direction of the University through a committee composed of representatives of the University and others named by the donors. (5)

On motion of Mrs. Busey, these regulations were adopted.

SALARY O F PROFESSOR D. O. BARTO (6) A recommendation that the salary of Professor D, O. Barto, who died January 18, be paid to his widow, Mrs. Lucy M. Barto, for the entire month of January.

On motion of Mrs, Evans, this recommendation was approved.

A P P O I N T M E N T O F MRS. L U C Y M. BARTO (7) A recommendation that Mrs. Lucy M. Barto be appointed Assistant in Poultry Husbandry, at a salary of two hundred dollars ($200) a month, from February 1 to July 1, 1921.

On motion of Mrs. Evans, this appointment was made.

L E A V E OF ABSENCE FOR PROFESSOR P O M E R O Y (8) A recommendation that leave of absence on one-half pay be granted Professor J. N. Pomeroy from February 1 to August 31, 1921, on account of illness.

This recommendation was approved.

PROFESSOR M U M F O R p ' s L E A V E E X T E N D E D (9) A request from Professor H. W. Mumford for an extension of his leave of absence without salary for one year beginning March 1, 1921, to enable him to continue his work for the Illinois Agricultural Association,

On motion of Mr. Hoit, this request was granted.

ADVISORY COMMISSION O N DEVELOPMENT OF D A I R Y I N G (10) A request for authority to appoint an advisory commission on the development of dairying at the University.

On motion of Mr. Hoit, this authority was given.
