MATTERS SUBMITTED BY ACTING PRESIDENT K I N L E Y

The Board considered the following matters submitted by the Acting President of the University.

DORA E. BIDDLE LOAN F U N D INCREASED

(1) A statement that a cheek for $1000 has been received from Mrs. Dora E. BIddle of Macon, Illinois, with the reauest that it be added tq the $1000 donated by Mrs. Biddle last October (p. 596), to constitute a loan fund for girls.

On motion of Mr. Abbott, the action of the Board on October 16, 1919, (p. 596), whereby this fund is administered according to the regulations for the Margaret Lange James Loan Fund, was reconsidered. On motion of Mr. Blair, this fund was accepted with thanks, to be added to the original gift and to be used for the purposes specified, with the understanding loans from this fund may be granted to girls in the freshman class who have completed one semester's work satisfactorily.

(2) A letter from the National Warm Air Heating and Ventilating Association! requesting that the research agreement (pp. 3, 493) be extended to April 1, 1921.

R* Richards, Dean, University of Illinois, Urbana, Illinois, DEAR SIR: It is a great pleasure for me to be able to advise you that at our Cleveland convention April 21st our Association unanimously . voted to extend the Research Agreement to April 1, 1921. May I also take this opportunity to tell you that the reports of Professor Willard and his staff were received with the closest attention and I believe the whole furnace industry as well as heating and ventilating engineers now thoroughly appreciate the Value of this particular research work which is being done at the University. We are very grateful indeed for your kindness in permitting Professors Willard and Kratz and Mr. Day to attend our recent convention and for all of the courtesies which the University has extended. .
