On motion of Mr. Carr, the President of the University was authorized to approve such a contract.

COST OF RECONSTRUCTION, Y. M. C. A. BUILDING

(21) A letter from Professor James M. White, Supervising Architect, as to the cost of reconstruction work in the Y. M. C. A. Building. October 17, 1917 President E. J. James, 355 Administration Building

DEAR PRESIDENT JAMES :

I think we are getting fairly near to a stopping place on the construction work in the Y. M. C. A. The cost to date plus encumbrances amounts to $10,400. We ought to spend another $1600.00 to have the building in what we would call creditable condition. Yours very truly,

(22) A statement from the Comptroller of expenditures on account of the School of Military Aeronautics to and including September 30, 1917. This statement does not include expenses of construction and reconstruction in the Armory, and in the Y. M. C. A. building, and some other similar items which are carried under another account. The total expense this far incurred by the University is not far from $35,000. We have received from the Federal Government in full payment of all charges for tuition ofs students in the School of Military Aeronautics to and including September 30, 1917, $16,879.80. I beg to advise you that I have received from the War Department treasury warrants amounting to $16,879.80 in full payment of all charges against the United States Government for tuition of students in the School pf Military Aeronautics to and including September 30, 1917,
