Marston, L. R., Fellow in Physics, for ten months beginning September i, 1917, with a stipendium of thirty dollars ($30) a month. (May 29, 1917). Moyer, W . D., Instructor in Mechanical Engineering, for ten months beginning September 1, 1917, at a salary of one hundred thirty dollars ($130) a month. (May 12, 1917). Nelson, Ray, Graduate Assistant in Botany for twelve months beginning June 1, 1917, without salary. (May 29, 1917). Peters, J. The Board proceeded to the consideration of the following matters submitted by the President of the University:

PLYM FELLOWSHIP AWARDED (1) A recommendation from Dean C. R. Richards that the Plym Fellowship for 1917-18 be awarded to Mr. Henry Dubin; with Mr. E. O. Christensen as alternate. It is understood that the person appointed to this fellowship does not draw the stipendium until circumstances enable him to travel in Europe and permission to undertake that travel has been granted by the University.

On motion of Mrs. Busey, this recommendation was concurred in.

PUBLICATION OF THESES (2) A recommendation from Dean David Kinley that the regulations concerning the retention of thesis deposits by the University be changed to provide that such deposits shall be retained if the thesis is published in any publication of the University of Illinois or of its allied scientific bureaus. (See Report, 1914, page 147). This statement should appear as paragraph 3 in the rules adopted by the Board relating to this matter on December 19, 1912, as printed on page 147 of the Minutes of that meeting, paragraph 3 of the rules being then numbered 4.

On motion of Mr. Carr, this recommendation was adopted.
