MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES -OP THE- UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS January 24, 1917 A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at the Blackstone Hotel, in Chicago, at 12 o'clock noon on Wednesday, January 24, 1917, pursuant to the following notice which was sent out by the Secretary on January 19, 1917: On the call of the President, Mr. W. L. Abbott, there will be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois at the Blackstone Hotel, in Chicago, at 12 o'clock noon, on Wednesday, January 24, 1917, to consider such matters as the committees of the Board and the President of the University may submit, and such other matters as may be duly presented. When the Board convened, the following members were present : Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Carr, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Ward, Miss Watson. Mr. James E. Taggart, President of the State Board of Agriculture, was present and took his seat as a member of the Board for the first time. President James was present. MINUTES APPROVED The Secretary presented the minutes of the meeting of December 12, 1916, and of the adjourned session of December 14, 1916. On motion of Mrs. Henrotin, the minutes were approved as printed on pages 179 to 192, inclusive.
