H. The east y2 of the south 60 feet of the north 124% feet of Lot 2 of William M. Goodwin's First Addition to Urbana. Title in Charles H. Lemon and Charles W. Walcott. Possession to be given immediately. Consideration, $650. J. The south 55 feet of the east % of Lot 2 of William M. Goodwin's Addition to Urbana. Title in Minnie May Cribbet. Possession to be given thirty days after acceptance of option. Consideration, $1,500. K. The north % of Lots 1 and 2 in Block 4 in the Urbana Railroad Company's Addition to Urbana. Title in James A. Hamlin. Possession to be given thirty days after closing of option. Consideration, $3,500. M. The north 60 feet of Lot 1 of William M. Goodwin's Addition to the city of Urbana. Title in William Chester Maguire. Possession to be given thirty days after the acceptance of this option. Consideration, $1,450. N. The north 59 y2 feet of the south 119% feet of Lot 1 in William M. Goodwin's Addition to Urbana. Title in Charles H. Lemon and Charles W. Walcott. Possession to given immediately. Consideration, $800. O. The south 60 feet of Lot 1 of William M. Goodwin's Addition to the city of Urbana. Title in Nora Chapin. ' ' Possession to be given thirty days after closing the option. Consideration, $1,800. Q. The east 77 feet of Lot 2 in Block 2 in Burpee, Curtiss, and Somers' Addition of Out Lots to the city of Urbana. Title in Charles H. Lemon and Charles W. Walcott. Possession to be given immediately. Consideration, $3,000.

On motion of Mrs. Henrotin, the foregoing recommendation was approved, and an appropriation of forty thousand dollars ($40,000) was made to cover these purchases and commissions. The vote was as follows: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Moore, Mr. Trevett, Miss Watson; noes, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Dunne, Mr. Meeker, Mr. Montgomery.

SITE FOR SCHOOL OF EDUCATION BUILDING.

Action was next taken on the recommendation contained in the report of the Finance Committee's meeting of September 27. After discussion, the following revised form of this recommendation was agreed to:

That the supervising architect be authorized to proceed with the acquisition of sufficient land in the block bounded by Springfield Avenue, Mathews Avenue, Stoughton Street, and Goodwin Avenue, to form a site for the School of Education Building, at a price not to exceed thirty thousand dollars ($30,000).

On motion of Mr. Moore, the foregoing recommendation was adopted, and an appropriation of thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) was made for this purchase. The vote was as follows: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Moore, Mr. Trevett, Miss Watson; noes, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Dunne, Mr. Meeker, Mr. Montgomery.

BARNES PROPERTY.

Action was next taken on the first recommendation contained in the report of the Finance Committee's meeting of September 13, 1913. On motion of Mr. Moore, it was voted that the so-called Barnes* property, west of Wright Street, north of Healy Street, east of Sixth Street (old numbering), and south of the interurban right-of-way be purchased by the University as a site for buildings; that an offer of fourteen thousand dollars ($14,000) be made to the owners for the same; and that, in case the owners do not accept this offer, the counsel of the University be instructed to initiate condemnation proceedings for the acquisition of the property. The vote was as follows: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Henrotin, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Moore, Mr. Trevett, Miss Watson; noes, none; absent, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mr. Dunne, Mr. Meeker, Mr. Montgomery. The other recommendations of the Finance Committee were discussed at length, but no further action was taken at this time.
