APPOINTMENT OP A SPECIAL INSTRUCTOR IN LAW. (4) A recommendation that Mr. Roger F. Little be appointed special instructor in Legal Procedure for the second semester of the current academic year, at a salary of two hundred dollars ($200.00) for the semester, to take care of instruction that would have fallen to Professor Pomeroy, now on two-thirds time, if he had been employed on full time. This recommendation was approved. APPOINTMENT OF AN ASSISTANT IN CHEMISTRY. (5) A recommendation that Mr. Jan Thomas Flohil be appointed assistant in Chemistry in the Agricultural Experiment Station from Jan. 1 to Aug. 31, 1912, with a salary of seventy dollars ($70.00) per month. This recommendation was approved. APPOINTMENT TO BOARD OF EXAMINERS IN ACCOUNTANCY. (6) A nomination from the University Committee on Accountancy of Mr. W. E. Seatree, of Chicago, for the vacant position on the Board of Examiners in Accountancy, in place of Mr. W. A. Chase, whose term expired on June 30, 1911; with the recommendation that Mr. Seatree be appointed as nominated for a term of three years from July 1, 1911, This recommendation was approved. TEMPERATURE REGULATION IN NATURAL HISTORY BUILDING. (7) A recommendation that sixteen hundred dollars ($1,600.00) be appropriated for the installation of temperature regulation in the rooms of the old part of the Natural History building, the occupants of which suffer at times from overheating, in spite of the turning off of all the radiation possible, because of the number of exposed steam pipes, and also at times from insufficient heating when heat is necessary both for comfort and for. the growth of living material in the laboratories. This recommendation was referred to the Committee on Buildings and Grounds for consideration and report. VACUUM CLEANERS. (8) A recommendation that three hundred dollars ($300.00) or so much of this sum as may be needed, be appropriated for the purchase of two portable vacuum cleaners for use in University buildings. This recommendation was referred to the Committee on Buildings and Grounds, with power to act. * RENTING OUTSIDE SPACE FOR COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE. (9) A communication from Dr. Eugene Davenport, dean of the College of Agriculture, requesting that authority he given to rent special space outside of the overcrowded Agricultural building as it may be needed to take care of the business of the College of Agriculture and the Agricultural Experiment Station; with a recommendation that authority be given for the renting of such space as may be actually needed during the academic year. This communication and recommendation was referred to the Committee on Agriculture for consideration and report.
