chief clerk are audited; and shall report to the board, at each regular meeting after the close of a semester or term of the University, the total amounts due for that semester or term on account of each kind of fee or charge that is payable. Your committee has gone over this matter with the registrar and is convinced that the proposed modification of the rule will lead to a better attainment of the results aimed at in the original rule. The secretary reported the receipt from the comptroller of a deed from Debbie A n n Rodgers and Vina. J a n e Rodgers, of Fairfield, Wayne county, Illinois, of the land described below, to be used for buildings for the College of Engineering: Beginning one hundred ninety-two (192) feet south of the northwest corner of lot two (2) in W. M. Goodwin's Second addition to the city of Urbana, thence east two (2) chains, thence south 95.76 feet, thence west two (2) chains, and from thence north 82.56 feet to the place of beginning, situated in the city Urbana, in the county of Champaign, and in the State of Illinois. Also all right and title to seven (7) feet and two (2) inches off the east side of Mathews avenue contiguous upon the west to the above described premises as released by ordinance adopted by the city council of the city of Urbana, May 2, 1910, and approved by the mayor of the said city, May 3, 1910, situated in the county of Champaign, in the State of Illinois, hereby releasing and waiving all rights under and by virtue of the Homestead Exemption Laws of this State.

H E A R I N G OF $Ln. GORDON H . SOMERS.

A t this point President Abbott presented Mr. Gordon H . Somers, a certified public accountant of Chicago, against whom the Board of Examiners in Accountancy had brought charges of unprofessional conduct (see page 4 6 8 ) . I n accordance with the action of the board on Sept. 26, 1911 (page 505), Mr. Somers was given a hearing. His case was then referred back to the special committee for further consideration.

C H A N G E I N F L O O R CONSTRUCTION I N COMMERCE B U I L D I N G .

On the recommendation of the State Architect, it was voted to substitute a tile arch system, of floor construction for the reinforced concrete system of floor construction provided for in the contract for the School of Commerce building, at an increased cost of about four thousand dollars ($4,000.00).

The State Architect submitted the plans for the building, which were approved as presented.
