Haugan, treasurer of the said board, and S. W. Shattuck, comptroller of the said board, be and they hereby are authorized to execute for and in the name of the University of Illinois a bond, in the penal amount of $80,000.00, in the form required by the War Department, to cover the safekeeping and return when required by the Secretary of War, of certain ordnance and •ordnance stores already issued, about to be issued, and such as may be issued in the future; the aggregate value of all such issues not to exceed the sum of $40,000.00. This resolution was adopted by. the following vote: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Grout, Mr. Hatch, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Meeiker; noes, n o n e ; absent, Mr. Anthony, Mrs. ^Bahrenburg, Mr. Blair, Mr. Deneen, Mr. Moore.

KESOLUTIONS CONCERNING PROFESSOR HALLBERG.

The following resolutions of the American Pharmaceutical Association concerning the late Professor Hallberg were received and ordered to be printed in the minutes of the board: WHEEEAS, It has pleased an all-wise Providence to remove from the midst of his earthly labors our honored and beloved friend and co-worker, Prof. Carl S. N. Hallberg; and, WHEREAS, Prof. Hallberg's untiring devotion to the best interests of his profession 4s worthy of our greatest respect, be it Resolved, By the Philadelphia Branch of the American Pharmaceutical Association, that by the death of Professor Hallberg, the retail pharmacists have lost an able and aggressive champion; ethical pharmacy, its first, clearest and most effective exponent; American pharmacy, one of its most worthy representatives; and mankind a fearless leader; and be it further Resolved, That copies of these resolutions be transmitted to the family of the deceased and to the faculty of the University of Illinois. The board adjourned.
