The appropriations requested in the foregoing letter of the supervising Architect, amounting to five thousand ninety-four dollars and ninety-five cents ($5,094.95), were authorized. WOMAN'S LEAGUE LOAN FUND. 12. An inquiry from the Woman's League of the University of Illinois whether the University will accept the sum of four hundred nine dollars and forty-four cents ($409.44) as a trust fund to be known as the Woman's League loan fund, to he available for any woman properly matriculated in the University on certain conditions laid down in the deed of gift. I t was voted t h a t the Board of Trustees will accept such fund for said purpose, to be administered in accordance with the general regulations applying to the Snyder Loan Fund, and subject to such changes from time to time as circumstances seem to make desirable. GRADUATE SCHOOL LEAVE OF ABSENCE. 13. Requests from Professors Garner and Colvin for leave of absence on half pay for the academic year 1911-12, in accordance with the regulations of the University. I t was voted t h a t these requests be granted, provided the president of the University can make satisfactory arrangements to care for the work of these professors during their absence. S.UIT AGAINST J. H. BRADY. 14. A communication from Mr. W. L. Abbott, president of the Board of Trustees, inclosing a letter from Messrs. Edward H. Tillson and John A. Barnes, attorneys for C. W. Spaulding, asking the University to join Mr. Spaulding as co-complainant in a suit against James H. Brady, Esq. I t was voted that the president of the university transmit the communication to the commission provided for by the act of the General Assembly of Illinois in force J u n e 11, 1897. CHEMIST IN STATE WATER SURVEY. 15. A request from Professor Edward Bartow, director of the State Water Survey, for the appointment of Mr. Louis I. Birdsall as chemist in the Water Survey, from Jan. 15, 1911, until June 31, 1911, at a salary of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per month, salary to be paid from Water Survey funds. I t was voted that said request be granted and t h a t the appropriation involved be made. AMERICAN MEDICAL MISSIONARY COLLEGE. 16. A letter from Roland H. Harris, secretary of the American Medical Missionary College, asking what decision the Board of Trustees has made in regard to a reduction of fees to students entering the University of Illinois Medical School from the American Medical Missionary College. I t was voted t h a t the Board of Trustees do not see their way clear to a reduction of fees in the case of said students.
