Total $3,162 20 In connection with the Physics building, the committee agreed to concur in authorizing an enlarged fan house, the changing of the attic roof so as to provide a photographic skylight, a revised entrance design, and a concrete floor over the entire basement area, the expense of these changes all coming within the $10,000 appropriation of the trustees at their meeting, and placed at the disposal of the supervising architect, the State Architect, and the Buildings and Grounds Committee. (See p. 564, minutes of the meeting of July 3, 1908.) The recommendation for the ventilating of the Natural History building was considered, but as the amount of money involved exceeded the $5,000 placed at the disposal of the architects and the committee, no action was taken, although the cordmittee agreed to recommend to the Board the appropriating of an additional $5,000 for extras on the Natural History building, to be expended under the same supervision as the first $5,000. VETERINARY COLLEGE.

The Committee on Veterinarv College made the following report, which was approved:

CHICAGO, NOV. 13, 1908.

To the Boqjrd of Trustees of the University of Illinois: Your Committee on Veterinary College begs leave to report that at a meeting of the committee held in the Palmer House, Chicago, November 13th, plans for a Veterinary College building were considered and approved in general with a few suggestions for changes. It was decided to recommend to the board that the Veterinary College ibe open for students at the beginning of the college year, September, 1909, that a three-year course be oifered, based upon a requirement of fifteen units for admission, and that a dean for the college be engaged as soon ,as possible. • There were present at the meeting Messrs. Hatch and Abbott of the committee, Dr. Davison and Mrs. Evans, members of the board, and President .James. Respectfully submitted,

President Abbott presented the following communication, which was -approved, and the appropriation made as recommended on motion of Mr. Madden: To the Board of Trustees, University of Illinois: . Agreeable to an order asked at a meeting of the board some time last .spring I engaged a fire inspector to inspect the buildings of the University located £>n the campus at Urbana.
