BALANCES RE-APPROPRIATED. 7. Recommendation that the balances of the sums appropriated to the Engineering College, the Engineering Experiment Station, and the Graduate School for the fiscal year, 1909-1910, unexpended on June 30, 1910, be reappropriated for the present fiscal year for the purposes of the respective departments. Voted that said recommendation be approved, 8. The following reports: 1. Budget for the Medical School for the months of July and Aug., 1910, submitted by Dr. Steele. 2. Report of the supervising architect, James M. White, on the physical condition of the buildings belonging to the College of Physicians and Surgeons, used by the University for its Medical School. 3. Estimate of the supervising architect as to the cost of repairs immediately necessary in the above buildings. 4. Report of Dr. H. B. Ward on the apparatus, equipment, etc., contained in the above buildings. Voted that third report, be referred, with power to act, to the special Committee on College of Medicine Matters for adjustment. APPOINTMENTS. 9. Miss Margaret L. Kingsbury be appointed accessions assistant in the Catalog Department of the University Library, at a salary of '$55.00 a month, for twelve months, beginning Sept. 1, 1910. 2. David Varon be appointed assistant professor of Architecture for. one year from Sept. 1, 1910, at a salary of $2,500.00 a year. 3. That Loring Edward Morgan be appointed assistant in Chemistry in Experiment Station at a salary of $720.00 a year, beginning Sept. 1, 1910; also that the salary of P. C. Grannis, assistant in Soil Fertility in the College of Agriculture and assistant in same in the Agricultural -Experiment Station, be fixed at $1,000.00, beginning Sept. 1, 1910; also that E. W. Bailey be appointed instructor in Pomology in the College of Agriculture and assistant in Plant Breeding in the Station, at a salary of $1,200.00 a year, beginning Sept. 1, 1910; also that Thomas Bregger be appointed assistant in Plant Breeding in the Agricultural Experiment Station, at a salary of $720.00 a year, beginning Sept. 1, 1910. The appointments were made as recommended. SCHOLARSHIPS IN HOUSEHOLD SCIENCE. 10. Recommendation that the following sentence be added to paragraph 4 of the rules adopted by the Board of Trustees of the University in regard to students applying for scholarships in Agriculture and Household Science, viz: Provided, further, that the registrar of the University may appoint suitable candidates to such scholarships for the several counties in cases where the Illinois Farmers' Institute or the respective county Domestic Science associations may have failed to make recommendations. The recommendation was approved. 11. Bill for traveling expenses incurred by the president of the Univercity while engaged on University business, from Oct. 1, 1908, to July 1, 1910, being for twenty-one months, with a recommendation that it be referred to the Finance Committee for examination and report. Voted that said recommendation be approved.
