We examined all vouchers for disbursements made during the quarter and found all on file, all properly receipted, approved and correctly entered. We compared all journal entries made from the various warrant registers footings at the close of the quarter, compared the postings with the ledger entries, and found all correct. We proved the balances in the ledger and drew off a trial balance as at Dec. 31, 1909, as illustrated by Schedule 10.

TREASURER'S ACCOUNT.

We compared all warrants paid, during the quarter with the treasurer's books; we also obtained from the assistant cashier of the State Bank of Chicago, a certificate, certifying to the balance on deposit to the treasurer's credit at the close of business, Dec.31, 1909, viz: $465,757.46. The following is a reconcilement of the treasurer's account with the books of the University, Dec. 31, 1909:

FEES DUE FROM STUDENTS.

The secretary presented the report of fees due from University students •at Urbana for the first semester of the year 1909-10, and the report of fees due from Academy students for the same semester. 'The report was referred to the Finance Committee.

APPOINTMENTS.

The secretary presented the following report of appointments not previously reported:.

APPOINTMENTS MADE BY PRESIDENT JAMES.

L. E. C. Ashley, part time student assistant in Department of Architecture, from Feb. 1, 1910, to June 15, 1910, at a salary of forty-five dollars a month. Louis DeVries, assistant in German for the remainder of the present academic year, from Feb. 1, 1910, at a salary of $450.00. I. G. Ferguson, half time assistant in General Engineering Drawing, at a salary of thirty dollars a month from Feb. 7, 1910, to June 15, 1910.
