UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS.

Meeting of November 26, 1909.

A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held in the Trustee's room at the University, Nov. 26, 1909, pursuant to the following notice which was sent out by the. secretary, Nov. 19, 1909: By order of the president, Mr. W. L. Abbott, there will be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois at 2:00 o'clock p. m., Friday, November 26, at the University to consider the question of authorizing the purchase of a tract of land for the Horticultural Department of the University, this purchase having been advised by the Agricultural Department, and also by the ETKecutive Committee. Also to consider such other business as may be duly presented. . When the board met pursuant to this call, the following members were present: Governor Deneen, Messrs. Abbott, Grout, Hatch and Moore, and Mrs. E v a n s ; absent, Messrs. Blair, Crebs, Davison and Meeker, and Mrs. Busey and Mrs. Bahrenburg. President James was present. 'There being no quorum present, the board adjourned.

Meeting of the Executive Committee.

A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at the University the afternoon of Friday, Nov. 26, 1909. The members of the committee present were Messrs. Abbott and G r o u t ; absent, Mrs. Bahrenburg. Other members of the board present were Governor Deneen, Mr. Hatch, Mr. Moore and Mrs. Evans. President James was present and the State architect, W. Carbys Zimmerman. Action wras taken as follows:
