APPOINTMENTS MADE AND N O T HERETOFORE EEPORTED.

The president's report of appointments made and not heretofore reported was presented by the secretary as follows:

Under authority given me, I have appointed-— Dr. B. S. Lacey, Instructor in Chemistry, salary of $800.00, for ten month? work and salary to begin Sept. i, 1908. Alonzo Plumstead Kratz, to a University scholarship in Mechanical Engineering, stipend $250. Mi*. Kratz is appointed in place of Frederick A. Braun, who was transferred from the University fellbwship account to the Graduate School account. Daniel C. Faber, to a research fellowship in the Engineering Experiment Station for two years, 1908-1910. The following appointments have been made by Vice President Burrill during my absence: C. C. Adams, associate in Zoology, at a salary of $1,400 a year, beginning Sept. 1, 19Q8. Earl L. Bradsher, Instructor in Rhetoric, at a salary of $90 a month, for ten months from Sept. 1, 1908. D. O. Clark (vi'ce, F. A. Shrader), Scholar in History, for the year be ginning Sept. 1, 1908, stipend $250. F. W. Doolittle, Instructor in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, for ten months beginning Sept. 1, 1908, at a salary of $100 a month. Susan W. Reed, Assistant in History, at a salary of $40 a month, for the ten months beginning Sept. 1, 1908. Fred B. Crawshaw, Assistant to the Dean of the College of Engineering, with the rank of assistant professor, salary of $2,400 from Sept. 1, 1908. W. D. Zoethout, Laboratory Assistant in Physiology, for the first semester of the year 1908-9, at a' salary of $90 a month, from Sept. 1, 1908. John McBride Knote, Instructor in Ceramics, at a salary of $160 a month from the time of entering service until June 30, 1909. F. Grace C. Spencer, Scholarship in Chemistry, for the year 1908-9, stipend $250. Terence B. Cosgrove, Instructor in Law, for ten months beginning Sept. 1, 1908, at a salary of $170 a month. Elmer J. Brown, Scholarship in Economics, for the year 1908-9, stipend $250. "Walter O. Sweizer, Storekeeper in the Chemical Laboratory, at $35 a month, beginning Sept. 1, 1908. Carl Wagner, Instructor in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, at a salary of $100 a month, for ten months, beginning Sept. 1, 1908. , Mr. Wagner takes the place of Mr. Agg. T. A. Phillips, Clerk in the Chemical Laboratory, at a salary of- $60 a month, from Oct. 1, 1908. Mr. Phillips takes the place of Mr. Carl F. Miller. M. W. Overstreet, Scholarship in Architecture, for the year 1908-9, stipend $250. John S. Cleavinger, Clerk in the Office of the Dean of Undergraduates, $40 a month for half time, for the twelve months beginning Sept. 1, 1908. Clara Gridley, Reference Assistant i n ' t h e Library during the summer school, for six weeks from July 1, 1908, at a salary of $15 a week. Jacob Garrett Kemp, Assistant in Physics, at $75 a month for. ten months from Sept. 1, 1908. Mr. Kemp is employed in place of Mr. C. A. Hellman. A. R. Lord, Instructor in General Engineering Drawing, at $80 a month for the ten months beginning Sept. 1, 1908. Mr. Lord is appointed in place of Mr. Hinds. G. A. VanBrunt, Scholarship in Chemistry, for the year 1908-9, stipend $250. Ernest W. Bailey, Scholarship in Tremmatology, for the year 1908-9, stipend $250.
