On motion of Mr. 'Hatch, it was voted that the new members of the board be properly assigned to the standing committees by the president. W A L K S AND E E P A I R S . The president presented a communication from the supervising architect with regard to walks and sundry repairs. This was referred to the Committee' on Buildings and Grounds with power to act. Mr. Abbott, chairman of the Executive Committee, made the following report: REPORT OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE. URBANA, I I I . , Aug. 22, 1908. To the Board) of Trustees of the University of Illinois: Your Executive Committee has approved the recommendations of the Buildings and Grounds Committee for an appropriation of $7,000 for the Physics building as requested by Dr. Carman. Your Executive Committee reports that at a meeting held at the University, Aug. 22, 1908, at which Messrs. Abbott and Lehman were present, action was taken as follows: The Comptroller was authorized to settle with the Christian County Coal Company for coal delivered, upon receipt of a credit slip for $200. The committee also ordered repairs as follows: To the steam pipes leading to the President's house at a cost of $500. To gutters on the Natural History building, $200. To roof and gutters on Chemistry building, $300. . Respectfully submitted, W. L. ABBOTT, Chairman. COLLEGE OF E N G I N E E R I N G . Mr. Lehman, chairman of the Committee on Engineering, reported on matters referred to the committee with power to act as follows: URBANA, I I I . , Aug. 22, 1908. To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois: Your Committee on the College of Engineering at a meeting held Aug. 22, 1908, approved appropriations as asked for by the Dean of the College of Engineering.
