ENGINEERING EXPERIMENT STATION BALANCE. 9. Request from the Director of the Engineering Experiment Station that the unused balance of special engineering funds, about $1,600, assigned to the establishment of research fellowships, be re-assigned to the expenses of the Engineering Experiment Station, to be distributed over such items of the budget as the director may recommend. On motion of Mr. H a t c h and by the following vote the recommendation was approved: Yeas, Messrs. Abbott, Grout, Hatch and Moore, and Mrs. Alexander, Mrs. Evans and Mrs. Busey; nays, n o n e ; absent, Governor Deneen, Messrs. Crebs, Blair, Davison and Meeker/ FEES IN CHEMISTRY. 10. Recommendation from the Council of Administration that the fees for chemistry 33a and 35 be fixed at eight dollars a semester for each course; the fees for chemistry 61 and 65, and physiology 7, be fixed at five dollars a semester. Voted on motion of Mrs. Busey that said recommendation be approved. LIBRARY STACK. 11. Recommendation that the Committee on Buildings and Grounds be authorized to take the necessary steps for completing the stacks in the library, and that the sum necessary, being fifty-five hundred dollars, more or less, be hereby appropriated. By the following vote the recommendation was approved: Yeas, Messrs. Abbott, G r o u t / Hatch and Moare, and Mrs. Alexander, Mrs. Evans and Mrs. Busey; nays, none; absent, Governor Deneen, Messrs. Blair, Crebs, Davison and Meeker. APPROPRIATIONS FOR GRADUATE SCHOOL. 12. Request that authority be given the president to appoint fellows and scholars recommended by the faculty of the graduate school, as rapidly as they may be recommended. Voted on motion of Mrs. Busey t h a t said authority be given. COMMISSIONS. 13. Recommendation that the President of the Board of Trustees appoint an advisory commission to report to the board as to what figures shall be placed in front of the physics laboratory. , Voted on motion of Mrs. Alexander that said recommendation be approved. 14. Recommendation that the President of the Board of Trustees appoint an advisory commission on the location of the buildings, which will probably be granted by the present Legislature. Voted on motion of Mrs. Evans that such authority be given. MATHEMATICAL MAGAZINE APPROPRIATIONS. 15. Request from the head of the Mathematical Department for an appropriation of fifty dollars ($50.00) a year toward the support of the American Mathematical Monthly, published under the joint editorship of the Univer? sity of Chicago and the University of Illinois.
