Voted that the publication of such an "Alumni Record" be authorized and the sum of $1,500 be appropriated toward the expense of such publication. 7. Mr. Shattuck desires to resign his position as business manager. Voted to refer the consideration of this resignation to the Executive Committee and the Committee on Instruction for report at the J u n e meeting. 8. A letter from Professor L. P. Breckenridge saying that he had been asked to go on as director of boiler trials for the United States Geological Survey, work undertaken in the summer of 1904 with the approval of the Board of Trustees. Voted that the President be authorized to extend permission to P r o fessor Breckenridge to continue to act in the capacity of director of boiler trials for the Committee of the United States Geological Survey having this in charge, providing this work do not interfere with his regular work in he University. 9. Mrs. Eunice Dean- Daniels presents her resignation as instructor in piano and the director of the music school requests anthority to look for a successor. Voted that the President may appoint an instructor in piano in place of M r s . Daniels at a salary not to exceed $1,200.00. 10. A petition has been presented, numerously signed by students, that the ground on the south of Springfield avenue, between Wright street and Burrill avenue, be asigned as tennis courts and that the tennis courts now on the campus immediately south of the interurban railway and the new courts south of the gymnasium and armory be put in charge of the University Tennis Association, a branch of the University Athletic Association. Voted that both recommendations be approved and the Committee cm Buildings and Grounds be authorized to construct the tennis courts. 11. The following persons have been recommended for fellows by the council:

Voted that the President be authorized to appoint the above named persons as fellows for the ensuing year and also two others to be named by the Council of Administration later.

ACCOUNTANCY.

T h e secretary received the following letter from Attorney General Stead in answer to certain inquiries made of him by order of the Board. T h e letter was received for record.
