President James presented the following matters for consideration:

1. John Main Trueman has been recommended by the Dean of the College of Agriculture for appointment as instructor in Dairy Husbandry in the College and First Assistant in the same subject in the Station, at a salary of $1,800, $600 of which are to be charged to the College and $1,200 to the Station. It is desired that his work begin on May 2, 1905. I t was voted that Mr. T r u e m a n be appointed instructor in dairy husbandry in the College and first assistant in the same subject in the Station, at a salary of $1,800.00 per year, $600 of which are to be charged to the College and $1,200.00 to the Station, the appointment to be from May 1, 1905, to A u g u s t 31, 1905. 2. The Faculty of the School of Pharmacy have presented the following recommendations: "1. That the course leading to the degree of Graduate in Pharmacy be lengthened so as to include eight months in each school year, instead of seven, as at present; that the entrance requirements be raised to one year of high school work, or its equivalent, and the minimum age of entrance be increased to seventeen years; that the recitation classes be an obligatory part instead of optional as at present and that the present age and experience requirements for the degree of graduate in pharmacy be retained. 2. That a course be installed which shall lead to the degree of pharmaceutical chemist, with the same requirements as the preceding course, the instruction to occupy two years of eight months, and six days a week instead of three days, this course to be concurrent with the graduate in pharmacy course and the work of the two courses to be partly in common, no requirements to be made for graduation excepting the successful completion of the course. 3. That the matriculation fee, diploma fee, the laboratory deposit for both of these courses remain as at present; that the present alumni quiz fee ($5.00) be added to the tuition fee for the graduate in pharmacy course, making the yearly tuition fee $50.00, and that the yearly tuition fee for the course in pharmaceutical chemistry be $100.00. Voted that this subject be referred to to the standing committee on the School of P h a r m a c y with power to act, provided that these recommendations be not followed unless the appropriation asked for in the University bill for the School of P h a r m a c y be obtained. 3. The Council of Administration recommended that the exercises connected with the formal installation of the President of the University be set within the month between the middle of October and the middle of November, taking the week which circumstances seem to make most desirable. Voted that the recommendation of the Council of Administration in regard to the formal installation of the President of the University, be approved. 4. Mr. Fred Atkinson presents his resignation as superintendent of grounds, to take effect at such time as the Board may think best. Voted that cbnsideration of the acceptance of this resignation be postponed until the J u n e meeting. 5. The head of the military department announces the loss of 10,000 cartridge primers .from the armory, and calls attention to the fact that it is impossible, under present conditions, to safeguard the military property of the University. Voted that this subject be referred to the Committee on Buildings and Grounds for report. 6. A great service may be done the University in the publication of a suitable "Alumni Record." It is believed that this enterprise would pay for itself largely, but to Carry it through successfully it would be necessary for the University to advance the money necessary to collect the information for the said volume.
