DEAR SIR—t have the honor to hand you herewith the contract of Fred Kauffman of Chicago, for furnishing the uniforms for this department, for the year 1901-1902. This firm completed their contract of last year to my entire satisfaction, so far as quality of material and workmanship were concerned. At first there was some trouble in the fitting of a few garments; which was eventually corrected. I have no hesitation in recommending that the contract with Mr. Kauffman, for the ensuing year be approved by the proper authorities of the University. Yours very truly,

HONORED SIR : Your attention is respectfully called to the following resolution introduced and unanimously adopted by the Illinois State Teachers' Association, Friday evening, Dec. 28, 1900: WHEREAS, "Nature Study''pamphlets to children and extension lecture courses to communities offer the most practical method of spreading the results of advanced study in the simplest form and stimulate research in all departments of knowledge, and WHEREAS, The University Extension Courses will put the University in touch with thousands of homes throughout the State not represented by resident attendance upon school or University. WHEREAS, the benefits of the New York appropriation for "Nature Study" Extension Courses given to the Cornell University are not to be extended to Illinois, therefore be it,
