I also transmit the annual statement of the Executive Faculty of the College of Medicine touching appropriations and salaries for the coming year. Notwithstanding every effort to procure this at an earlier time, it has only just come to hand. There has not been time for its careful examination, but it very clearly needs some modifications before being ready for the action of Board. It is therefore recommended that the expenditure of the college be allowed to proceed on the same basis as last year until the next meeting of the Board, and that in the meantime the statements be referred to the Committee on Finance and the Business Manager for investigation, conference with the officers of the college and report to the Board. Both of the foregoing recommendations were adopted.

INSTRUCTION; APPARATUS.

I submit the following recommendations: 1. That the salary of Professor Dodge be $2,200 per annum. 2. That Gerdt Adolph Gerdtzen be appointed Assistant Professor of Machine Design in the department of mechanical engineering at $1,600 a year. 3. That instructors be appointed as follows for ten months at the monthly pay indicated: In mechanical engineering, David Carroll Veirs, at $75. In chemistry, Azariah T. Lincoln, at $85. In the Preparatory School, Cline F . Davidson, at $80.
