4. That David L. Seroggins be appointed Mechanician in Machine Shop, at $70 per month for ten months. 5. That Wilber John Fraser, Instructor in Dairy Husbandry, be paid $700 from the College fund, $300 from the U. S. Station fund, and $600 from the State Station fund. 6. That the salary of Archibald Dixon Shamel, Instructor in Farm Crops, be $1,600, of which $700 shall be paid from the College fund, and $900 from the State Station fund. 7. That the salary of Willard John Kennedy, Instructor in Animal Husbandry, be $1,600, of which $700 be paid from the College fund, and $900 from the State Station fund. 8. That the salary of Oscar Erf, Instructor in Dairy Husbandry be $1,400. 9. That J. H. Pettit be appointed Assistant in Chemistry in the Agricultural Experiment Station at $1,000 a year to be paid from the State Station fund. 10. There is some reason to believe that Mr. A. B.Steubenrauch, appointed Assistant in Horticulture at the last meeting, may not accept, and no suitable candidate has been found for the position in soil physics. It is recommended that the President be empowered to arrange terms and fill one or both of these positions as may be necessary. 11. The resignation of William Esty, Jr., as Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering, is transmitted, with the recommendation that it be accepted to take effect September 1st. 12. That the sum of $500 be paid to Judge O. A. Harker for services in the College of Law in the coming year, as heretofore. 13. That the sum of $500 be appropriated for incidental expenses and apparatus in the two departments of chemistry. 14. That the sum of $1,000 be appropriated for apparatus in the department of physiology. 15. That Albert Leroy Marsh be reappointed assistant in chemistry on the Water Survey at $50 per month for 12 months. 16. That R. S. Woodrow, of Lincoln, Illinois, be appointed field assistant in sugar beet experiments at $1,000 for eight months service, to be paid in 12 monthly installments, upon the understanding that he will spend the other four months in work as a student in the College of Agriculture. 17. That authority be given the President to engage on the best terms possible Mr. Coates P. Bull, of Minnesota, as Instructor in Farm Crops at a salary not to exceed $1,500. This is for the purpose of enabling Mr. Shamel to take up the experimental work on corn provided for by the recent State appropriation. 18. It is recommended that in case of men who serve the Experiment Station under its new conditions, and whose duties begin on July 1st, that the advance in salaries begin with July 1st. 19. That the sum of $800 be appropriated for the purchase of equipment for a bacteriological laboratory to be established by Professor Burrill and for the present to be located in the Agricultural Buildings. 20. That authority be given Professor Burrill to engage a stenographer and typewriter in his office at a salary of $40 per month for 12 months, upon the understanding that the salary shall be borne in equal parts by the University general fund and the agriculture funds.
