9. Recommendation approved and appropriation of Experiment Station funds made according to estimates submitted. 10. Appropriation of $100.00 made on motion of Mrs. Flower. 11. Recommendation approved. 12. Accepted for record. 13. Recommendation approved and purchase of a suitable frame authorized, the matter to be in charge of President Draper. 14. Recommendation approved and $1,000.00, or so much thereof as might be needed, appropriated for improvements on Illinois Field, according to estimates submitted. 15. Accepted for record and the following resolution adopted: Besolved, That the Board notes with satisfaction that fifty-four men associated with the University entered the army or navy at the call of the country to take up arms for the liberation of Cuba from the oppression of Spain. We commend the spirit which led to such action and express our own sense of loss and tender our sympathy to the relatives and more intimate friends of the two who gave their lives for the sake of advancing freedom in the world.
