UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS.

[Sept. 12,

2. I recommend that Mr. W. J. Fraser, instructor in dairying, be granted leave of absence for six months, beginning February 1st, for the purpose of continuing the study of his subject at the Copenhagen Dairy School, and also in Holland and France. 1 recommend that this leave of absence be granted with loss of but half pay. 3. I transmit herewith the reports of the Dean of the College of Agriculture and the Director of the Experiment Station, and recommend that the requests for appropriations contained therein be granted. 4. I recommend that the sum of $100 be granted the department of photography for incidental expenses for the coming year. This recommendation would have been made at the June meeting but for the fact that there was uncertainty at that time about Mr. Charles T. Wilder, instructor in the department, remaining with us. 5. I recommend the appointment of Mr. A. F. Burgess of Maiden, Massachusetts, as entomological assistant, at a salary of $800, and the appointment of Mr. John H. McClellan of Lexington, Kentucky, as instructor in zoology, at $800 per annum. Both of these positions were provided for at the June meeting. The second named was filled by the reappointment of Miss Juliette Butler, but she has since resigned because of marriage.
