PROCEEDINGS BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS, FOR THE Year Ending August 31,1900. M E E T I N G OF S E P T E M B E R 12, 1899. The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois met in t h e Trustees' Room, Library Building, Urbana, Illinois, at 9 o'clock, a. m., Tuesday, September 12, 1899. The members present were Messrs. Bullard, Fulkerson, Hatch,. McKay, McLean, Nightingale, and Smith and Mrs. Flower, Mrs. Carriel, and Mrs, Abbot; those absent were Governor Tanner and Mr. Bayliss. President Draper was present. The Secretary presented the minutes of the meeting of June 13, 1899, and the adjourned session thereof held J u n e 27, 1899, and of the meeting of July 26, 1899, and the adjourned session thereof held August 16, 1899. These minutes were approved as presented. The Secretary was directed to insert in the report of the proceedings of the Executive Committee of the Board on July 6, 1899, a& given on page 133 of the minutes, last paragraph, after the word "agriculture," the words "with the approval of the President of the University." President Draper presented the following paper: UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS, September 11,1899. To the Board of Trustees. 1. I recommend the appointment of Mr. Oscar Erf as instructor in dairying at a salary of $1,000 per year. 203
