PROCEEDINGS OF BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

PEPARATOR5T SCHOOL.

That the following1 instructors in the Preparatory School be reappointed for ten months from September 1, 1898, at the compensation indicated, viz.: 1. Edward Gr. Howe, $1,800 per annum. 2. Clarence W. Alvord, $90 per month. 3. Reuben S Douglas, $80 per month. 3. Lillie A. Clendenin, $70 per month. 5. Charles B. Randolph, $80 per month.

WATER SURVEY.

1. That Clendon V. Miliar be appointed chief assistant for the year (12 months) at $900. 2. That Robert W. Stark be appointed assistant for the year (12 months) at $600.

GARDENERS.

1. That Richard Uttenweiler be reappointed as gardener for the year (12 months) at $60 per month. 2, That Fred Atkinson be reappointed as assistant gardener for the same term at $40 per month.

STOREKEEPERS.

1. That M, T. Lindsey be reappointed as storekeeper in the chemical laboratory for ten months from September 1, 1898, at $40 per month. 2. That I. H. Allen be reappointed storekeeper in the electrical laboratory for the same period, at the same salary.

STUDENT ASSISTANTS.

That $500 be appropriated for student assistants who may be employed from time to time by the President as they may be needed.

MESSENGERS.

That messengers be employed in the following offices at $3 per week from the opening of the University in September to the close of Commencement week: The office of the President; the offices of the Dean of the General Faculty and the Dean of the College of Agriculture, jointly; the .office of the Dean of the College of Engineering; the offices of the Dean of the College of Literature and Arts and the Dean of the Woman's Department, jointly; the office of the Head Librarian; and the offices of the professors of chemistry, jointly.

JANITORS AND WATCHMEN.

1. That the appointment of all janitors and watchmen terminate at the first of July unless specifically continued by the Superintendent of Buildings and grounds, under the authority here conferred. 2. That the appointment of a night watchman and^a day watchman be authorized at $40 per month for twelve months.
