To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois. GENTLEMEN:—An examination of the lists given below of articles published in the bulletins issued and of experiments carried on will give a good idea of the work of the Station for the two years ending June 30, 1896.

The number volumes and pamphlets entered upon our accessions catalogue in the library is 4,288. The number of bulletins 2,818.

PUBLICATIONS.

Eleven bulletins, Nos. 34 to 44, inclusive, and two annual reports have been published. The bulletins contained in all 344 pages. Seventeen thousand copies are printed, and the circulation amounts to 15,500. Two annual reports contained 16 pages each.
