O n motion of M r . M o r g a n , t h e r e c o m m e n d a t i o n of P r e s i d e n t D r a p e r w i t h r e g a r d to t h e reorganization of t h e shops (see p a g e 96) w a s approved. O n motion of Mr. A r m s t r o n g , t h e P r e s i d e n t was r e q u e s t e d to h a v e p r e p a r e d a sketch p l a n of t h e U n i v e r s i t y g r o u n d s , so as to show t h e relative position of t h e b u i l d i n g s a n d t h e walks. T h e following resolution, offered by Mr. Bullard, was a d o p t e d : Resolved, That the Committee on Buildings and Grounds is hereby instructed to have prepared drawings, specifications, etc., for the new buildings and improvements provided for by the present legislature; and that the Committee is hereby authorized to let the contracts for the construction of the same. This does not apply to the library building otherwise provided for, and this work shall be done on advice and consultation with the President and members of the Faculty interested in the several buildings. T h e m a t t e r of t h e r e o r g a n i z a t i o n of t h e a g r i c u l t u r a l d e p a r t m e n t was t a k e n u p and, after discussion, f u r t h e r consideration was d e f e r r e d till t h e n e x t m e e t i n g of t h e Board. A resolution, offered b y M r . M o r g a n , with reference to t h e p u r c h a s e of a sprinkler, was referred to t h e F i n a n c e C o m m i t t e e , to r e p o r t at t h e next m e e t i n g . O n m o t i o n of Mr. M o r g a n , it was voted t h a t t h e C o m m i t t e e o n B u i l d i n g s a n d G r o u n d s be i n s t r u c t e d to ascertain a n d r e p o r t at t h e n e x t m e e t i n g of t h e B o a r d for how m u c h t h e S. Graham, President of the Board of Trustees, University of Illinois, S I R : I have the honor to hand you herewith the financial statements due from me at this time: Paper A, a showing of the current appropriations from March 1, to June 1, 1895. Paper B, the condition of the State appropriations, June 1, 1895. Paper C, the same for the U. S. fund. Paper ID, a list of vouchers presented for audit, being 501 to 1,150. Paper E, an estimate of receipts and expenses for the year ending September 1, 1896. Paper F, an estimate for the three months ending September 1, 1895. The Board is requested to appropriate the $31,854.20 given in this paper for the expenses of the three months for the purposes named.
