On motion of Mr. Bennett, W. L. Pillsbury was appointed Experiment S t a t i o n secretary for one year from April 1, 1889, a t a salary of two t h o u s a n d dollars. The Board of Direction of t h e Agricultural Experiment Station was constituted as follows for the ensuing y e a r : E. E. Chester, Champaign, representative of the S t a t e B o a r d of Agriculture. Henry M. Dunlap, Savoy, representative of the Illinois S t a t e Horticultural Society. H. B. Gurler, DeKalb, representative of the Illinois S t a t e Dairymen's Association. Dr. S. H. Peabody and Professors Burrill and Morrow, from the F a c u l t y of the University, a n d Messrs. Cobb, Bennett and Haskell from the Board of Trustees. Messrs. Chester, Dunlap, and Gurler were nominated t o be members of the Board of Direction by the Societies which they represent respectively. On m o t i o n of Mr. McKay, Dr. P e a b o d y was made President of the B o a r d of Direction. On motion of Mr. Bennett, the Executive Committee of t h e Board of Direction of this year, Messrs. Peabody, Cobb, a n d Chester, was continued for next year. On motion of Mr. McKay, Mr. McLean was chosen President of the Board of Trustees t o serve one year. On motion of Mr. Haskell, Mr. J o h n W. Bunn was re-elected Treasurer t o serve two years. He was directed t o execute and deliver t o the Executive Committee a satisfactory bond. The President of the Board was instructed t o make an exa m i n a t i o n of t h e bonds and other securities held by the Treasurer as an officer of the Board, and t o report thereon a t t h e J u n e meeting. Messrs. Cobb and Bennett were chosen t o be two members for the ensuing year of the Executive Committee of which t h e President of t h e Board is by law a member and the chairman Dr. Selim H. Peabody, was elected Regent of the University for two years, a t a salary of four t h o u s a n d dollars per a n n u m . W. L. Pillsbury wras elected Corresponding Secretary and Recording Secretary of the Board of Trustees for one year. The following resolution presented by Mr. Bennett was adopted: Besolved, That the Treasurer of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois is hereby authorized to receive and receipt for all moneys and
