53 UNIVEESITY DISCOUKSES. During the two years covered by this report there have been delivered a series of discourses in the University Chapel, on Sunday afternoons, by xhe distinguished clergymen named below, belonging to various denominations and residing at different places in Illinois and adjacent States. The students heartily avail themselves of the rare opportunity of hearing the leading Christian ministers of our part of the country, and the citizens of the locality attend in large numbers. The expenses of the course for 1882-3 were generously defrayed by Mr. E . W. Blatchford, of Chicago, and for that of 1883-4, with similar liberality and kindness, by Mr. A. C.
