DISCIPLINE L Basis for Discipline The University reserves the ri«ht to exclude at any tie students whose conduct is deemed undesirable or prejudicial lo the University community's best inter est. examples of which, without excluding others, are gambling, visiting or loitering in the vicinity of places of ill-repute, violations of law involving moral turpitude, intoxication, and disorderly conduct Students may be subject to discipline for other uthcient cause 27. Administration of Discipline Discipline is administered through the Senate Committee on Discipline and Sub-Committees appointed by it. These Sub-Committees have original jurisdiction to hear the evidence awl to recommend action in all disciplinary cases except that students registered in the Graduate School are subject to discipline by the dean of that sch • If I. final action on recommendations from its Sub-Committecs and h e a r s cases appealed to it. LIBRARY REGULATIONS 28. U s e of B o o k s T h e L i b r a r y is p r i m a r i l y for free reference use. T h e privilege of d r a w i n g books for use outside of the r e a d i n g room is accorded to all officers of instruction and government, to all registered s t u d e n t s , and to other accredited persons. Books not reserved for classes m a y be borrowed for home use for two weeks, and may be renewed for two weeks more if not specially restricted or called for. All books a r eT subject to recall at a n y time w h e n n e e d e d for L niversity work. General reference books, books reserved for classes, all general periodicals, a n d certain other groups of books a r e to be consulted in the r e a d i n g rooms onlyT h e y may not be loaned from the L i b r a r y except when the reading rooms are closed. T h e y must then be r e t u r n e d by the time t h e L i b r a r y opens. 29. F i n e s Nooks which are not r e t u r n e d on time a r e subject to a fine of two cents a d a y ; in computing fines, S u n d a y s and holidays are counted. Hooks from the reference, reserve, and periodical shelves as well as some special collections, are subject to* a fine of twenty-five cents for the first hour and five cents for each additional hour if kept overtime. Books r e c d l e d for University work must be returned at once upon receipt of notice If they are not returned within two days after notice is mailed, a fine of twentv five cents a day is charged. All books lost or da ma creel must be replaced or paid for. *™
