APPOINTMENT O F BUSINESS MANAGER O F THE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (4) T h e Board of Directors of the Athletic Association has appointed Mr. H e n r y F . Thornes, Assistant Bursar in the Business Office of t h e University, as Business Manager of the Athletic Association, effective September 1, 1950, at an annual salary of $6,600. Mr. Thornes will continue to serve as Assistant Bursar on one-tenth time during the year beginning September 1, 1950, and will serve as Business Manager of the Association on nine-tenths time. T h e Association will pay $6,000 of his salary and the University, $600. After September 1, 1951, Mr. Thornes will be on full time with the Athletic Association. I recommend that the action of the Board of Directors be confirmed. O n m o t i o n of M r . L i v i n g s t o n , t h i s a p p o i n t m e n t w a s c o n f i r m e d . FEE FOR S C H O O L CHILDREN PARTICIPATING IN PRACTICE TEACHING COURSE IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION (5) T h e Committee on Fees and Scholarships recommends establishment of a new fee of $6.00 a semester to be charged elementary school children accepted for enrollment, in order of their application, in a practice teaching course, Rhythmic Activities for Children ( P . E . W . 243) offered by the Department of Physical Education for Women to give prospective teachers practice teaching experience in this specialty. I concur. O n motion of M r . F o r n o f , this fee w a s authorized. REAPPROPRIATION OF ADDITIONAL UNEXPENDED BALANCES (6) T h e Comptroller recommends that the following unexpended balances in appropriations by the Board of Trustees for the fiscal year 1949-1950 for services and projects not completed as of June 30, 1950, be reappropriated for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1950. (These a r e in addition to the reappropriations approved by the Board on July 25, 1950.)
