MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS January 1 3 , 1 9 4 9 With Executive Committee Meetings of December 28, 1948, and January 18, 1949 The regular January monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held on Thursday, January 13, 1949, at the Blackstone Hotel, in Chicago, according to the following schedule: 10 a.m. — Executive session as in Committee of the Whole. 1 p.m. — Open session. The following members were present: President Fornof, General Davis, Mrs. Holt, Mr. Livingston, Mr. McKelvey, Dr. Meyer, Mr. Nickell, Mr. Williamson. On invitation of the Board, Mr. R. Z. Hickman and Mrs. Frances B. Watkins, members elect, sat with the Board during the day. President Stoddard was present; also Vice-President A. C. Ivy, Provost C. R. Griffith, Assistant to the President A. J. Janata, Secretary H. E. Cunningham, Comptroller Lloyd Morey, Professor W. H. Scheick, Coordinator of the Small Homes Council, and, during the open session, Director J. F. Wright. MINUTES APPROVED The Secretary presented the minutes of the meetings of October 21 and November 19, 1948; also, for record, the minutes of a meeting of the Executive Committee on December 28, 1948. On motion of General Davis, the minutes were approved as printed on pages 135 to 188 above, and the minutes of the meeting of the Executive Committee of December 28, 1948, were received for record. 189
