CONTRIBUTIONS TO FACULTY-GRADUATE STUDENT CENTER TRUST F U N D

(15) In approving the purchase of the property of the University Club of Urbana (October 29, 1943, page 743) the Board agreed to establish a trust fund to be devoted to financing of a Faculty-Graduate Student Center Trust Fund. The Club agreed to try to secure contributions toward this fund and the Board agreed to match all money thus contributed during the biennium ending June 30, IQ 45The Club has now remitted to the University for credit to this fund the sum of $4451.92, representing the value of debentures of the Club contributed to the trust fund by holders. An appropriation of an equal amount to the fund by the Board from the General Reserve should be made in accordance with the agreement. O n motion of M r . Fornof, this remittance was accepted for the Faculty-Graduate Student Center T r u s t F u n d ; and the appropriation of $4,451.92 was made to the fund in accordance with the agreement, subject to an approving legal opinion on the right of the Board to appropriate moneys to a trust fund to be used for expenditures deferred beyond the current biennium, by the following vote: Aye, M r . QUIT CLAIM DEED OF REAL ESTATE IN TEXAS IN SETTLEMENT OF BOOTH ESTATE

(16) As previously reported to the Board, the late Mr. Charles H. Booth of Galesburg bequeathed to the University certain farm lands in Knox County and other property, including real estate in Texas. The Board has previously authorized the Dean of the College of Agriculture to approve the sale of these properties, and the farm land in Knox County has already been sold. The Dean has also approved the sale of a parcel of property in Taylor, Texas, consisting of about 56 acres, for $1,500. Counsel for the executor of the Charles H. Booth Estate has requested that the Board of Trustees execute a quit claim deed of this real estate and adopt a resolution authorizing the same so that a certified copy of the resolution may be sent to the purchaser of the real estate along with the executed quit claim deed. The following resolution is offered: Whereas, the Board of Trustees of the University has authorized the sale of real estate bequeathed to the University by the late Charles H. Booth of Galesburg; and Whereas, the executor of the estate has completed negotiations for the sale of a parcel of land consisting of about 56 acres, lying partly within the town of Taylor, Williamson County, Texas, belonging to the Booth Estate, to Elizabeth Nelson of Williamson County; Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the Board of Trustees hereby confirms this sale and authorizes its President and Secretary to execute the following deed of quit claim unto the said Elizabeth Nelson. T H E STATE OF ILLINOIS, 1 COUNTY OF KNOX J Know all men by these presents: That We, Addison J. Boutelle, as Executor of the Estate of Charles H. Booth, deceased, and the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, for and in consideration of Fifteen Hundred Dollars to us cash in hand paid by Elizabeth Nelson, a widow, of Williamson County, Texas, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have Quitclaimed, and by these presents do Quitclaim unto the said Elizabeth Nelson all our and each of our right, title, interest, claim and demand in and to the hereinafter described tract of land, with all and singular, our and each of our right, title, interest, estate, claim and demand in and to the hereditaments and appurtenances thereto
