193 'I UNIVERSITY O F ILLINOIS 403 ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION B U D G E T Mr. Trees, for the Finance Committee, reported that in reviewing the Athletic Association budget the Committee recommended that the President of the University be requested to consider the relation that exists between the Athletic Association and the Board of Trustees, and to report any suggestions that he may desire to make. On motion of Mr. Trees, this recommendation was adopted. SPECIAL. COMMITTEES DISCHARGED On motion of Mr. Trees, the following special committees of the Board were thanked for their work and relieved of further consideration of the matters referred to them: Committee on Installation of President Chase, Committee on Oakleaf Collection of Lincolniana, Committee on Naming Streets and Drives. COMMITTEE ON ALUMNI FOUNDATION Mr. Armstrong, for the Committee on Alumni Foundation, presented a report of progress and asked for more time. On motion of Mr. Williams, this committee was continued. RADIO STATION WGN The Acting Provost stated that a proposal had been received from W G N concerning daily broadcasts by members of the University staff. This matter w a s referred to President C h a s e for investigation a n d report. G R A D U A T E SCHOLARS A N D FELLOWS T h e Secretary presented for record the following supplementary list of scholars a n d fellows in the Graduate School, appointed b y the President of the University: Civil Engineering David J. Ketchum, Jr Scholarship 400 APPOINTMENTS MADE BY THE PRESIDENT T h e Secretary presented also for record a list of appointments m a d e b y the President of the University. Allen, Frank Hederick, Assistant in Accountancy, on one-half time, for ten months beginning September 1, 1931, at a cash compensation at the rate of seventy dollars ($70) a month. (June 29, 1931)1 Allen, Harry Kenneth, Assistant in the Bureau of Business Research, for ten months beginning September 1, 1931, at a cash compensation at the rate of one hundred twenty dollars ($120) a month. (July 6, 1931) Amiel, Joseph Henri, Assistant in Romance Languages, for ten months beginning September 1, 1931, at a cash compensation of sixteen hundred dollars (?l6oo). (June 29, 1931) . .
