WATER MAIN CROSSING CAMPUS (8) A recommendation that the President and the S c e a y of the Board be ertr authorized to execute the following contract with the Champaign and Urbana Water Company.

AGREEMENT

T H I S I N D E N T U R E , entered into this — day of April, 1925, between the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, a corporation, hereinafter called the University, and the Champaign and Urbana Water Company, a corporation, hereinafter called the Company. WITNESSETH, 1. That in consideration of the agreement of the Company herein contained the University grants to the Company permission to lay a ten inch (10") water main across the campus of the University from Wright Street to Mathews Avenue on a line to be approximately the extended line of the south line of Armory Avenue east. 2. In consideration of the permission to lay the main described in paragraph I the Company agrees in laying said main to be guided by the specifications and approval of the Supervising Architect of the University of Illinois; that it will at its own expense make all changes in and repairs to walks, drives, tunnels, sewers, and pipes necessitated by such construction work; and guarantees to put them in as good permanent condition as they were when the Company began operation, as required by the Supervising Architect; that it will replace all sod removed as shall be required by the Supervising Architect of the University, and that it will meet the same requirements in making any repairs in the future. 3. The Company further agrees that it will set a tee with valve at the point where the main described in paragraph I crosses the University water main so that the two mains m a y be connected all in accordance with the specifications and approval of the Supervising Architect of the University. 4. The Company further agrees that if at any time in the future the water main described in paragraph I is found to be an obstruction to any University development, it will, at its own expense, move said main to another location to be designated by the Supervising Architect of the University; or that upon six months' notice from the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, it will at its own expense remove the main entirely from the premises of the University. And if said Company fails on such notice to remove such main, then the Board of Trustees m a y themselves remove said main at the expense of said Company.
