A n additional $300 of these bonds are available having been purchased by Treasurer Burke in connection with our order for the Gehrmann Fund. I would suggest that these be acquired to take care of small uninvested balances in other funds as follows: Plym Fellowship Endowment $200 (par value) Gregory Scholarship Fund $100 (par value) If you concur in this suggestion, I suggest that you call the Investment Committee together for the purpose of making recommendations to the Board of Trustees at its meeting next week. LOT 23, COLLEGE PLACE (5) A recommendation that the following resolution be adopted: W H E R E A S , The Board of Trustees on January 17, 1925, in regular meeting authorized an exchange with M r . T. F. McNeill of certain property at First Street and Armory Avenue, Champaign, for certain property in College Place, Champaign, A N D W H E R E A S , the property to be conveyed to T. F. McNeill in accordance with this action is described as follows: "A tract of land located at the Northeast Corner of Lot I of a subdivision of the South yi of Section 13, Township 19 North, Range 8 East of the 3rd P. M., described as follows: Beginning at the Northeast corner of said Lot and thence running West 137^4 feet, thence South 60 feet, thence East 137^4 feet, thence North 60 feet to place of beginning. "Otherwise described as a tract of land located at the Southwest intersection of First Street and Armory Avenue in Champaign, Illinois, having a frontage of 60 feet on First Street and 137H feet on Armory Avenue." N O W , T H E R E F O R E , W . L. Noble, President, and H . E. Cunningham, Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, are hereby authorized and directed to execute, acknowledge, and deliver in its name a good and sufficient warranty deed of the premises above described to Thomas F. McNeill and Nannie McNeill. O n m o t i o n of M r s . E v a n s , this resolution w a s adopted. REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCREDITING HIGH SCHOOLS (6) The University Senate recommends that the present standard for teachers in the high schools desiring to be accredited to the University; namely, that "only those w h o have had four years' work of college grade, or w h o have done work equivalent to the same, should be appointed as teachers of the ordinary high-school curriculum," be changed to read that teachers of academic subjects shall have "preparation amounting to graduation from a standard college requiring 120 semester hours, or a reasonable equivalent in terms of college preparation." Exceptions to this rule are provided for in the case of teachers of long experience. The other details of accrediture remain as hitherto. O n m o t i o n of M r . W h a m , this r e c o m m e n d a t i o n w a s adopted.

PURCHASE OF COLLEGE PLACE LOT

(7) The Supervising Architect recommends the purchase of Lot 6 in College Place from H . A. Wedding for £9,000 plus paving and lighting assessments. The lot is 51^x114 feet and has a very excellent seven room house which the Supervising Architect proposes to use as a tenant house on the south farm. The Comptroller concurs in this recommendation and I recommend that the transaction be approved, the purchase made by the President and Secretary of the Board, and that the sum of £9,000 be appropriated for this purpose from the Reserve and Contingent Fund.
