174 UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS. [Aug. 21 Action on another communication from Professor Shattuck was postponed until the September meeting. Upon recommendation of Vice President Burrill, Mr. J. E. Smith was appointed instructor in Civil Engineering in the University for the ten months beginning September 1, 1907, at a salary of $110.00 a month. The board adjourned. W. L. ABBOTT, W. L.
