URBANA, I I I . , December 5, 1894.

To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois: GENTLEMEN:—Your committee appointed to consider the matter of bringing' a medical college in Chicago, or elsewhere, into relations with the University,. reports that it has carefully considered the subject in its different bearings, and it seems manifest that the interests of the University, of higher professional education in Illinois, and of medical practice, would be promoted by such a step. After investigating various medical institutions in Chicago, we report that the one with which the prospects of consumating an arrangement seem most promising, is the College of Physicians and Surgeons, of Chicago, located at the corner of Harrison and Honore streets, which is one of the three most prominent medical Colleges in Chicago. The other two of the three are already affiliated with other universities. We learn that the College of Physicians and Surgeons looks with favor upon an alliance with this University. Dr. W. E. Quine, President of the institution, is present at this meeting for the purpose of considering the matter, and we recommend that the Board advise with him in relation thereto. Respectfully submitted,

J. E. ARMSTRONG, A.. S.. DRAPER,

Committee.
