The Board has not planned any new work for the coming quarter, but will enlarge somewhat its feeding experiments in order to investigate more fully than has been done heretofore the value of wheat for feeding purposes. It will also make some additions to the forestry plantation by planting some 100 trees each, of Kentucky coffee and of mulberry. It is further proposed to -do much more work than heretofore in the way of testing the durability of timber grown in this state. Respectfully submitted, T. J. B U R R I L L , President Board of Direction. * I also submit an application from Miss Anita M. Kellogg, Director of the Woman's Gymnasium, asking for an appropriation for current expenses and for some additional light apparatus. In view of the fact that the attendance of students in that department is double what it was last year, I recommend that $70.00 be appropriated for the services of a piano accompanist and $200.00 for the other purposes suggested. I submit a communication from the professor of military science asking for an appropriation of $50.00 for the purchase of additional swords for officers of the battalion, consequent upon a re-organization thereof, and recommend that it be granted.. Also a communication from the professor of pedagogy requesting an appropriation for current expenses in his department, and recommend that :$150.00 be granted. Also one from the Principal of the Preparatory School, of similar import, andirecommend that $200.00 be granted. Also one from Dr. Burrill requesting that provision be made for employing assistance in the bacteriological laboratory, to the extent of $5.00 per week for the fall term, and recommend that it be granted. Also one from Professor Charles M. Moss for $150.00 for the purchase of material and supplies to be used in the Greek department, and recommend that it be granted. Also one from Professor Talbot for material and appliances in the laboratory of applied mechanics, and recommend that $185.00 be allowed.
