Collections: A Storied Heritage

An institution with as storied a heritage as the University of Illinois would find it difficult to delve into its past and not find a cultural foundation upon which its development has rested. The University has developed several impressive collections throughout its history, some known through the country and even the world. Many of these collections have been saved but forgotten, and some have been entirely lost. Hence, we shall slip silently beneath the surface waters of the known and into this forgotten grotto of sunken treasures, hoping to recount their silenced tales, if not bring them back to the surface of remembrance.
