University Yells
Os-kee-wow-wow
The original 1899 class yell was: [1]
Osky Wow! Wow!
Skilly Wow! Wow!
Ninety-nine! Ninety-nine!
Wow!
In 1912, the yell had been modified to the following and was known simply as Number Three: [2]
Os-kee-wow-wow!
Skin-nee-wow-wow!
Illinois, Illinois,
Wow!
By 1916 the yell had become: [3]
Os-kee-wow-wow!
Skin-nee-wow-wow!
Illinois, Illinois,
Yea!
The expanded version of the song, created by H.R. Green of the Class of 1912 and H.V. Hill of the Class of 1911:[4]
Old Princeton yells her Tiger,
Wisconsin, her Varsity
And they give the same old Rah, Rah, Rah,
At each University,
But the yell that always thrills me
And fills my heart with joy,
Is the good old Oskee-Wow-Wow,
That they yell at Illinois.
Chorus:-
Os-kee-Wow-Wow,
Illinois,
Our eyes are all on you.
Oskee-Wow-Wow,
Illinois,
Wave your Orange and your Blue,
Rah, Rah,
When the team trots out before you,
Every man stand up and yell,
Back the team to victory,
Os-kee-Wow-Wow.
Illinois.
In 1895 the track team of the University of California at Berkley visited Illinois as part of its Eastern Tour and defeated Illinois on its visit on June 7. There has been speculation that the Berkley team may have brought back parts of Illinois Os-kee-Wow-Wow to make the popular Berkley yell: [5]

Oley-Mucky-Ei!
Oley-Berkeley-Ei!
Cali-Forn-Ei!
