I n the consideration of these recommendations, Item No. 20, the appointment of an Associate Dean for Capital Programs and Planning, Office of the Executive Dean, College of Medicine, Medical Center, prompted questions from a number of Trustees. In particular, concern was expressed as to the possible overlapping character of this function and that of consulting services requested as reflected in Agenda Items No. 7 and 8. 1 In the course of discussion, Chancellor Begando was asked to provide more detailed analysis and criteria for this position and the manner in which the recommended appointee met the criteria — as well as further details on the scope of the position and the justification for its establishment. O n motion of Mr. Livingston, the appointments as presented were confirmed, with the understanding that Item No. 20 would be dealt with separately and concurrently with consideration of Items No. 7 and 8. Accordingly, following consideration of those items by roll call vote, appointment No. 20 was ratified by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Hahn, 1 Item No. 7: "Employment of Campus Planning Consultant for Medical Center"; Item No. 8: "Re-employment of Consultant to the Office for Capital Programs."
